Torrence, California, December 13, 2001- Little Company of Mary Health Services has named Seattle-based Practice Partner's , Practice Partner Patient Records as their electronic medical record (EMR) system. They will implement the system to automate clinical documentation at their ambulatory clinics.
Little Company of Mary is an integrated system of healthcare services spanning Los Angeles County and the surrounding communities. They currently employ over 50 primary care physicians. After their first location is running Practice Partner, the application will be aggressively deployed to over 15 additional clinics.
"We chose Practice Partner at the recommendation of several of our physicians. In particular, Dr. Glen Wishon reviewed 20 different EMR products and it was his conclusion that Practice Partner was best suited for our needs," said Administrative Lead Francesca Wachs. " Practice Partner was designed to work in a primary care setting and it is also very flexible. We are a multi-site clinic and it has allowed us connectivity between each of the sites as well as the ability to separate data by each site."
The electronic medical record is a key step in the process of becoming a "paperless" office. This software will allow the facility to function without the traditional paper patient chart, thus allowing them greater access to the chart, which in turn will help them provide better care to their patients.
