10/04/1999 Seattle, WA - Practice Partner announces the formation of a new partnership with Brentwood Medical Products. This alliance enables Practice Partner to offer the users of its Practice Partner Patient Records electronic medical record software a revolutionary product, Brentwood's Valentine PC ECG. This comprehensive product enables the users of Patient Records to perform simultaneous 12-lead interpretive ECG analyses using a standard personal computer, eliminating the need for cumbersome ECG machines and proprietary hardware.
The Valentine PC ECG will play a major role in providing affordable and efficient ECG management to ambulatory care practices, particularly when used in conjunction with Practice Partner Patient Records. The paperless ECG readout is displayed directly on the PC monitor and stored directly in the PC or server, eliminating the need to store, file, or retrieve printed historical ECG readings. The digital historical ECG graph images can be viewed from any networked PC, providing universal accessibility to staff.
"The convenience and minimal hardware requirements make the Valentine ECG a versatile tool for enhancing the workflow in the office," says Andrew Ury, M.D., President of Practice Partner "This is the next step in the quest for the convenience and cost-effectiveness of the paperless office."
The Valentine PC ECG will reduce operational costs by eliminating the need to buy expensive ECG components, including paper, stylus, printheads, motors, or other moving parts on traditional ECG machines. Plain paper printouts from the digital file eliminate the need to print on special heat-sensitive ECG paper, which fades over time.
"We're very excited about partnering with Practice Partner to make Brentwood's Valentine PC ECG work with Practice Partner Patient Records and supporting their goal of the paperless medical office," says Michael Paquin, Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Brentwood. "Together, the products make a perfect combination for both primary care and cardiology practices."
