08/11/1999 Seattle, WA - Practice Partner, a leader in the development and marketing of innovative medical practice management products, today announced the signing of a partnership agreement with Antek, a leader in the laboratory information system.
"Interfacing laboratory data is a crucial element of ambulatory medical records," said Bruce Kleaveland, Practice Partner's Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing. "We are looking forward to a closer relationship with Antek so we can provide our joint customers with effective interface solutions."
Practice Partner Patient Records, Practice Partner's acclaimed electronic medical record for ambulatory practices, is the ideal platform for integration of all clinical information, including laboratory data. This partnership will further strengthen the current relationship between Antek and Practice Partner by providing laboratory interfaces for joint Practice Partner/Antek customers. Laboratory interfaces allow physician practices to download clinical reference lab values directly into Practice Partner Patient Records. They reduce manual entry and are essential to the creation of a "paperless" medical office.
"Providing clients with true solutions to their practice management needs is our ultimate goal," said Richard Jefferson, Antek's Director of Sales & Marketing. "By establishing this relationship between our organizations, we will be able to effectively deliver on our customer service promise."
Seattle-based Practice Partner is a leader in the development and marketing of innovative Electronic Medical Records and Practice Management products for medical offices and large health care enterprises. Practice Partner, founded in 1983 by Dr. Andrew Ury to provide comprehensive software solutions for office-based physicians, is one of the pioneers in electronic medical records software. More than 1200 offices use Practice Partner software, and more than 700 of them use Practice Partner Patient Records. With over a decade of experience with the EMR (Practice Partner released its first version of Practice Partner Patient Records in 1987), Practice Partner has created software products that are finely honed to the real world needs of physicians, nurses, and office professionals.
Antek provides computer programming and services from their facilities in Westminster and Reisterstown, Maryland. In 1990, Antek's software product development became focused on the healthcare arena and fostered the development of the LabDAQ Laboratory Information System (LIS). Antek has installed LabDAQ in over 700 facilities, including hospitals, reference labs, multi-site clinics, and physician office laboratories. LabDAQ is a 32-bit Windows-based application and operates in both MS-NT and Novell network environments. The popularity of LabDAQ with laboratorians comes from the product flexibility, connectivity, and ease of integration into daily lab operations. This popularity has resulted in the distribution of LabDAQ by virtually every major manufacturer of laboratory equipment and their dealer networks.
