6/27/00 Seattle, WA - Practice Partner, a leader in the ambulatory medical software industry, today announced the availability of Practice Partner Clinical Benchmarking, a unique service that provides specific quality of care indicators for individual physicians and group practices benchmarked against a national database.
Practice Partner Clinical Benchmarking tracks quality of care indicators for a variety of conditions, including asthma, coronary heart disease, heart failure, atrial fibrillation, cerebrovascular disease, diabetes, and hypertension, as well as preventive services. These indicators are compared against a national database of nearly 400,000 patients and 400 physicians that belong to over sixty practices located in 24 different states, so that users can measure their activity against a statistically significant comparison group. Users of this service receive quarterly reports that compare individual or group practice patterns against key practice benchmarks and identify practice issues or factors that needed to be addressed.
Practice Partner, in conjunction with Practice Partner Research Network (PPRNet), will offer this service exclusively for users of its electronic medical record system, Practice Partner Patient Records, to help practices monitor and improve patient care.
"Improvement in clinical care is one of the most important objectives of any good computerized clinical system," said Bruce Kleaveland, Practice Partner's Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing. "By combining the data collection capability of Practice Partner Patient Records with the power of the large practice-based database managed by PPRNet, Practice Partner Clinical Benchmarking enables users to measure and deliver quantifiable clinical improvement in their practices."
In addition to receiving the quarterly personalized reports, users of this service receive free memberships to PPRNet, a unique community of Practice Partner users who participate in practice-based research projects. Participants will also be eligible for CME credits for reviewing their personalized benchmarking reports and for taking part in certain PPRNet activities.
