Father Joe's Villages and McKesson's Practice Partner Help Improve Care for Underserved Communities

ATLANTA, June 5, 2008 — McKesson Corporation today announced its Practice Partner® electronic health record (EHR) application will now offer Zetafax 2007 (Version 11) by Equisys as an integrated component of its Practice Partner Patient Records 9.2. The Zetafax integration will make it easier for customers to fax prescriptions, progress notes, letters and charts directly from Practice Partner – eliminating the hassle of using a traditional fax machine or going through a print screen. Zetafax can be used within Practice Partner for specific integrated functions, and also outside of the EHR to more effectively manage the sending and receiving of faxes.

The Practice Partner software can store pharmacy information put in by the practice, including fax numbers, allowing providers to use Zetafax to directly fax a patient’s preferred pharmacy or pick from a pharmacy list on the fly. The Zetafax integration also makes it very easy for providers to electronically fax progress notes, letters and charts from within the Practice Partner application. Providers just select the information they want to share, select the appropriate outside provider, select “fax” and press “OK.” Again, without having to go through a print screen or look up fax numbers.
